How to crochet spring pineapple shawl


If you have patience and love working using crochet cotton thread, you might like to make this SPRING PINEAPPLE SHAWL




CROCHET THREAD is good to work but take a lot of patience, but it’s worth it.

Using a variegated cotton thread, this shawl turned out very beautiful and elegant, nice to wear in warm weather or any special occasion.


Pineapple stitch is the main stitch used in this beautiful shawl.




Blocking is optional, but if you are happy how the stitches formed, you probably don't need blocking, its just come out beautifully.


For the materials, I used 3.5mm hook or US E/4 size and a crochet cotton thread 100% soft cotton 50g, you need 2 and half skeins for this shawl depend on how long you want your shawl would be.




Materials:
3.5mm hook/US E4
Crochet cotton 100% thread ( it can be variegated or plain color)
Scissor

Stitches used, all in US terms

V-stitch - (dc,ch3,dc)
Dc - double crochet
Sc- single crochet
Sl st - slip stitch
Ch3- count as first dc
Sc to the ch3 space - are the 11dc worked from v-stitch

For the pattern:

Ch6, sl st to form a ring

Row 1 - Into the ring, work ch3,2dc,ch2,3dc,ch2,3dc, turn

Row 2 - ch4, skip 3dc, to the ch2 space work (3dc,ch2,3dc)
ch5, skip 3dc, (3dc,ch2, 3dc) to the next ch2 space
and work dc to the top of ch3 ( edge part)

Row 3 - Ch4, to the ch2 space (3dc,ch2,3dc) ch3
v-stitch to the 3rd chain of ch5 space
Ch3, (3dc,ch2,3dc) to the  next ch2 space, turn

Row 4- Ch4,  work (3dc,ch2,3dc) to the ch2 space,
ch4, work 11dc to the middle v-stitch
ch4,(3dc,ch2,3dc) to the ch2 space, turn your work

Row 5 - Ch4, (3dc,ch2,3dc) to the ch2 space,
ch5, sc to the 11dc ,
ch5 (3dc,ch2,3dc) turn

Row 6 - ch4, (3dc,ch2,3dc) to the ch2 space,  
ch5, sc to the first sc of 11sc, *ch3,skip
next st, sc next st repeat *until you  have 5 loops
ch5, (3dc,ch2,3dc) to the ch2 space. Turn

Row 7- ch4, (3dc,ch2,3dc) to the ch2 space,
ch5, sc to the first ch3 loop, ch3, repeat
to the next ch3 until you have 4 loops,
ch5, (3dc,ch2,3dc) to the ch2 space,    
turn your work

Row 8- ch4, (3c,ch2,3dc) to the ch2 space
Ch3, work v-stitch to the 3rd chain of ch5 space
Ch3, sc to the ch3 space, ch3 repeat next ch3 space,
until you have 3 loops
Ch3, v-stitch to the 3rd chain of ch5 space
Ch3, (3dc,ch2,3dc) to the ch2 space. Turn

Row 9 - ch4, (3dc,ch2,3dc) to the ch2 space
Ch4, work 11dc to the v-stitch
Ch4, sc to the ch3 space, ch3, sc next ch3 space
Ch4, work 11dc to the next v-stitch
Ch4, (3dc,ch2,3dc) to the ch2 space. Turn

Row 10- ch4, (3dc,ch2,3dc) to the ch2 space
Ch5, sc to the 11dc of previous row
Ch5, sc to the ch3 space, ch3, sc next ch3 space
Ch5, sc to the 11dc of previous row
Ch5, (3dc,ch2,3dc) to the ch2 space. Turn

Row 11- ch4, (3dc,ch2,3dc)  to the ch2 space
Ch5, sc first sc of 11sc, ch3, skip next sc,
sc next sc until you have 5 loops
Ch5, sc to the ch3 space, ch5, sc first sc of 11sc,
ch3,skip next sc,sc next sc
Repeat until you have 5 loops,
ch5 (3dc,ch2,3dc) to the ch2 space. Turn

Row 12- ch4, (3dc,ch2,3dc) ch5, sc to the first ch3 loop,
ch3, repeat to the next ch3
space until you have 4 loops,
Ch7, sc to the ch3 loop, ch3
repeat next ch3 loop until you have 4 loops
Ch5, (3dc,ch2,3dc) turn

Row 13- Ch4, (3dc,ch2,3dc) to the ch2 space
Ch3, v-stitch to the 3rd chain of ch5 space
Ch3, sc to the ch3 space, ch3,
repeat next ch3 space until you have 3 loops
Ch3,v-stitch to the 4th chain of ch7 space,
ch3, repeat next ch3 space until you have 3 loops.
Ch3, v-stitch to the 3rd chain of ch5 space,
ch3 (3dc,ch2,3dc) to the ch2 space. Turn your work
  
From this row, we will do the increasing, just keep on repeating until
you have your desired length of your shawl.

Row 14 - ch4, (3dc,ch2,3dc) to the ch2 space
Ch4, work 11dc to the v-stitch
*Ch4, sc to the ch3 space, ch3, sc next ch3 space,
ch3,sc next ch3 space (2 loops here)
Ch4, work 11dc to the next v-stitch
Repeat from* to the end
Ch4, (3dc,ch2,3dc) to the ch2 space. Turn

Row 15- ch4, (3dc,ch2,3dc) to the ch2 space
Ch5, sc to the 11dc of previous row
*Ch5, sc to the ch3 space, ch3, sc next ch3 space
Ch5, sc to the 11dc of previous row
Repeat from* to the end
Ch5, (3dc,ch2,3dc) to the ch2 space. Turn

Row 16- ch4, (3dc,ch2,3dc)  to the ch2 space
Ch5, sc first sc of 11sc, ch3, skip next sc,
sc next sc until you have 5 loops
*Ch5, sc to the ch3 space, ch5,
sc first sc of 11sc,ch3,skip next sc,sc next sc
Repeat until you have 5 loops,
Repeat from* to the end
ch5 (3dc,ch2,3dc) to the ch2 space. Turn

Row 17- ch4, (3dc,ch2,3dc) ch5, sc to the first ch3 loop,
ch3, repeat to the next ch3 space until you have 4 loops,
*Ch7, sc to the ch3 loop,
ch3 repeat next ch3 loop until you have 4 loops
repeat from* to the end.
Ch5, (3dc,ch2,3dc) turn

Row 18- Ch4, (3dc,ch2,3dc) to the ch2 space
Ch3, v-stitch to the 3rd chain of ch5 space
Ch3, sc to the ch3 space,
ch3, repeat next ch3 space until you have 3 loops
*Ch3,v-stitch to the 4th chain of ch7 space,
Ch3, sc to the ch3 space,  
repeat next ch3 space until you have 3 loops.
Repeat from* to the end
Ch3, v-stitch to the 3rd chain of ch5 space,
ch3 (3dc,ch2,3dc) to the ch2 space. Turn your work
  

Note:
Repeat from Row 14 until you finished
and your last row should be end in Row 14.
Blocking is a must.

  1. here I am almost 6 years after you posted this, just wanting to say thank you! I have the exact same thread you used here, and have been struggling to find a good pattern for it.. you've saved me from shoving it back into my stash for another 5 years lol thanks!
