Crochet dress with monkey applique



Curious George is my daughter latest favorite animal at the moment, she loves Monkey. 
So i got the idea making dress for her. 

This is an easy dress with simple stitches and working in continuous round.





















This dress fits toddler 1-3 years old and measures 16" long.

Materials I used:

4 seasons stallion 8 ply yarn, love this yarn it's  soft.
With two colours light and dark brown.
5mm hook
Scissor
A fluffy yarn for edging
colour pink.
White for shell decoration.

To start with :

With dark brown
Row 1 :      Chain 79, slip stitch to form a ring, be careful not to twist it.

Row 2 :      Ch1, sc in each st. Around, don't  slip stitch continuous in round.

Row 3- 23 :  Repeat row 2.
                     You have a total of 25 rows for the body.
                     Slip stitch.Fasten off.

Row 26 :       Insert light brown colour yarn, ch2, dc same st.,
                      dc next st and each st., Around.
                      Slip stitch to the top of chain 2. Fasten off.

Row 27 :      Insert dark brown colour again, Ch2, dc same st,
                    *dc next st, 2dc next st.
                     repeat * to the end of the row.
                     Slip stitch to the top of chain 2.

Row 28-36 : Ch2, dc same st, dc next stitch and each stitch around.
                     Slip stitch to the top of chain 2. Fasten off.

Using pink fluppy yarn add more rows if you want to work with this kind of yarn 😃

Row 37- 42 : ch2, dc in each st. Around. Slip stitch and fasten off.

Go back to the top edge of the dress

With white colour yarn
Insert hook to the dress, ch2, work 2dc same st.
*Skip 2 sts., 3dc next st repeat to the end of row.
 slip stitch to the top of chain 2.
 Fasten off.

Finishing with fluppy yarn, ch2, dc in each st. Around.
Slip stitch. Fasten off.

For the strap ( Make 2) :

using white colour yarn
 
Chain 25 or more, hdc second chain from hook, hdc next 2stitches, 
dc next 18 sts.hdc last 3sts.
fasten off, leave long tail for sewing, 
and sew it to the dress.

Emily crochet dress


This is a simple crochet dress consists of basic stitches, single crochet and double crochet. 

Easy to follow pattern.












The materials I used:

5mm hook
4 season’s stallion 8 ply (this is a soft yarn)

Colours:         
 Black                      
Yellow
 Blue (dark)
 Red
Scissor for weaving ends
Yarn needle
 
Sizes:  Fit toddler ( 1-3 years old)

The body measures 10 inches wide
                                  7 inches long

Let’s begin:

With black yarn:

Row 1 :          Ch84 or more
                       slip stitch to form a ring ( be careful not to twist it.)

Row 2 to 28 : ch1, work single crochet in each st. around. 
                       Don't slip stitch, continuous working in round 
                       until row 28 then slip stitch.
                       fasten off.

Row 29 :        Change yarn into yellow colour , ch1, 
                       work sc in each stitch around. 
                       slip stitch.

Row 30 :       Ch3, work 4 dc same stitch.
                      You just made a shell stitch pattern.
                       * Skip 2stitches, work 5 dc next stitch
                       repeat * until the last shell stitch, skip 2 stitches, 
                      slip stitch to the top of ch3. ( 29 shell's made)

Row 31 :      Ch1, single crochet in every stitch around. fasten off.
                     Change colour into blue yarn.

Row 32 :      For the skirt :     
                     Ch2, dc same stitch
                    work 1dc in every stitch around. 
                    Slip stitch to the top of Ch2.

Row 33 :     Ch2, dc same st. * 1dc next st., 
                    2dc next st. repeat * to the end.
                    slip stitch to the top of ch2.

Row 34 to 48 : Ch2, dc same st., 
                         1dc in each stitch around. 
                         Slip stitch to the top of ch2.

Row 49 :  Ch2, dc same st., 1dc in each stitch around. 
                 slip stitch to the top of ch2.
                 fasten off
                 change colour to red yarn.

for the edging:

Row 50 :         ch2, work 2dc, ch2, 3dc same stitch
                         skip 1 st.,
                         dc next st 
                         * skip 1 st., work (3dc ch2 3dc) next st., repeat*
                         ending with skip 1, dc last st., 
                         slip stitch to the top of ch3.

Row 51 :         Slip stitch next st., 
                         slip stitch to the middle shell space
                         ch2, work (2dc, ch2, 3dc) same space
                        * dc next dc of previous row
                        3dc, ch2, 3dc to the shell space, repeat* to the end.
                        slip stitch to the top of ch2. Fasten off.

Note:
* You can repeat row 50 as you like
* make sure all the slip stitches you made will be at the back of your skirt.

For the strap: (Make 2)
Ch8 plus 3
work sc to the 4th chain from hook. sc across
*Ch1, sc in each stitch across, repeat* until you have 24 rows. sew to the dress OR

count 7 stitches from the edge, insert your hook and sc to the 8 stitches across, turn your work
ch1, sc across until you have 24 rows. Connect to the opposite side of the dress work in sc.
Fasten off
Do the same for the other side strap. 

finishing:

With yellow colour yarn, sc the top of the dress in each stitch around. Add some flowers.

A leaf stitch ear warmer or mini scarf for little cutie





This is basic stitch, formed like a leaf, easy to follow pattern.
It's good in making scarves, ear warmer or even a blanket. Perfect in anything :)





All you need:

5mm hook
8 ply acrylic homemaker yarn
two buttons, i used heart shape buttons
Fluppy pink yarn for edging


Let's begin here:

Make a number of chain divisible by 2 plus 1 for extra turning.

for adult, chain 88 plus 1
for toddler chain 70 plus 1

Row 1: Into 3rd chain from hook, work 2sc, *skip 1 st., work 2sc into next st
repeat from * to the last 2sts., skip 1 st., 1sc into last chain.

Row 2: Ch2 to count as first st, skip first sc,
* skip 1sc, work 2sc into next sc, repeat from* to end
1sc into turning chain.


Repeat row 2 until you have 12 rows or more.

For the edging, i used fluffy yarn colour pink, work sc all around
or you can use the white acrylic yarn.

Bill's Scarf



This close fabric stitch is ideal to make a blanket, scarf, less holes, make your crochet work so smooth and tight.

I named the scarf after my husband name. :)









Materials I used:

5mm hook
homemaker 8 ply acrylic yarn
black and white
scissor
yarn needle for weaving ends

The size of this scarf is 46inch height ( not including the tassel)
7 inches wide
Feel warm and looks good, you can wear it wherever you go :)


Row 1 : With black, make a number of chain divisible by 2, or 160 chain
               plus 3 extra.


Row 2: Work 1sc and 1dc into 5th chain from the hook (as picture above)
              * skip 1chain, to the next st., work 1sc and 1dc repeat *
              to the last 2sts.,skip 1chain, sc to the last chain.

Row 3: Ch3 count as first dc, * work 1sc and 1dc into next sc of previous row
               repeat from * to end, 1sc to the 4th of chain 4.
            * Change colour ( optional)
             







Row 4 : Repeat row 3 ending 1sc into 3rd of chain 3 and until you have the desired length of your scarf.

Note: you can make a stripe scarf or one colour,

I made 4 rows of  colour black
*2 rows white
2 rows black
2 rows white
4 rows of black
 repeat *
 then 4 rows of black for the finishing rows


For the tassels

* Cut white and black in 20 inch long,  take 5 pieces of yarn and tie it on the scarf.

Husband was so happy with this scarf,i will make 3 more for  myself and my kids with different colours.

How to Crochet Forget me not stitch

This is an easy pattern, easy to follow stitch.

I decided to make a cowl out of this stitch as winter is just around the corner here in Australia.



All you need:
5mm hook
light green 100/ acrylic, 8ply yarn
scissor

Stitches are in US terms:

Row 1 : Make a number of chain divisible by 3 plus 1 and 4 extra turning.

Row 2 : in the 5th chain from hook make 2dc, ch2, 1sc same space
             *skip 2 sts., make 2dc, ch2, 1sc to the next st.
              repeat * until last 3 sts., skip 2 sts.,
              1sc into last st.

Row 3 : Ch3 count as first dc,
               * work (2dc, ch2, 1sc) next ch2 space



repeat* to end.
1sc into 4th chain of ch4.

Row 4 : Repeat row 3 but ending with 1sc into 3rd chain of ch3.
              And until you have your desired length of your scarf.

*don't forget to turn your work
